About

Hi, I’m Lise
I'M BOTH A REGISTERED NUTRITIONIST AND MASSAGE THERAPIST
My purpose is to support you to feel the best that you can - mentally, emotionally and spiritually. We’ve one precious life, and it doesn’t come with a rewind button - so I want to help you get the most out it.
So many of us are held back from achieving our dreams and ambitions through poor health, lack of confidence or self-belief. It doesn’t have to be that way. I have seen first-hand how a change of approach in diet and lifestyle can lift spirits, banish the blues and set people on a path to achieving their goals.

Lifelong natural wellness advocate
I’VE BEEN AN ADVOCATE FOR NATURAL WELLNESS FOR OVER THIRTY YEARS AND HELPED PEOPLE JUST LIKE YOU ACHIEVE POWERFUL TRANSFORMATIONS IN MIND, BODY AND SPIRIT. IT HAS BEEN A PRIVILEGE AND A JOY.
And there’s no myth and magic to it. Just plain, sensible, honest-to-goodness advice and support to get you back on track. Advice, importantly, that is backed by the latest scientific studies. Plus, as a qualified aromatherapist you have the option of the healing power of touch. Stress, anxiety and sleep issues are so common in today’s busy 24-7 world, and a massage provides the perfect antidote. It profoundly benefits both mental and physical complaints.
PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE
In my experience, most people have no idea that their current lifestyle and eating habits could be having such a negative impact on their wellbeing. Constant fatigue, low mood, gut issues and hormonal imbalances can all be significantly improved with a change in dietary approach and lifestyle.
Your doctor is unlikely to inform you about these approaches. This is because significantly, the NHS isn’t geared up for the prevention of the chronic lifestyle conditions such as type 2 diabetes or effectively deal with the current mental health crisis so prevalent today. And prevention is so very much better than cure. So, my raison d’etre is to empower you to take more responsibility for your health by giving you the knowledge to help yourself. To navigate the complex and often confusing barrage of health messages about what and what not to eat and do.
Regaining your equilibrium
Unfortunately, like the world we live in, we’ve become a little off kilter. In the 21st Century, we’ve become further estranged from the natural world and our connection to it and its rhythms. Modern lifestyles dictate that a decent amount of sleep, fresh air, rest, movement and proper nutrition - the fundamental tenets of good health – are at a premium. And we are paying the consequence with the resultant poor health.
RECONNECT WITH MOTHER NATURE
Getting these basic elements right for you will go a long way in solving your health concerns and let us focus on finding the root cause of your issues. I encourage you to pause. I want to help you reconnect with yourself, to the natural circadian rhythms of life and to Mother Nature who is a great healer.
I am a member of the Association of Naturopath Practitioners and regulated by the General Naturopathic Council. I am fully insured and hold public liability insurance as mandated by my industry body. I am also a member of the International Federation of Aromatherapists. If you are serious about taking back control of your health, vitality and wellbeing, then partner with me and let me show you how.

WHAT MY CLIENTS SAY

My story

NORWEGIAN ROOTS
I am half Norwegian and spent childhood summer holidays wandering around the unspoilt mountainside surrounding the family cabin on the west coast of Norway near Bergen. Norwegians have a great love of the outdoors which is firmly embedded in their culture.
This philosophy is called ‘friluftsliv’ (literally translated as free-air-life or outdoor life), a term first coined by playwright Henrik Ibsen in 1859. Hiking, skiing, sailing – it gave me a deep appreciation and love of nature.

HOLISTIC VIEWPOINT
My fascination with natural health began in my early twenties as I discovered the healing power of food, regular exercise, massage and essential oils which supported me through a period of chronic stress and anxiety.
I cut out processed foods, started cooking from scratch and found I felt amazing. I begin swimming and started playing tennis. I lost weight, my mood and confidence improved and I’ve never looked back. The benefits inspired me to train as an aromatherapist so that I could extend my knowledge and learning to help and support others. It was a fascination that was took me to the other side of the world and tropical Fiji.
There I met with traditional medicine women and learnt about the healing properties of indigenous plants and herbs such as Piper methysticum or kava – well known for its relaxing and sedative properties.
AROMATHERAPY CALLING
That journey began over thirty years ago and for several years I had my own aromatherapy practice where I supported hundreds of people from all walks of life with a diverse range of health complaints. During this time, I taught adult evening classes in natural health at my local further education college as well as running workshops in massage and aromatherapy. I worked backstage at several major UK music festivals, spreading the healing vibes to the world of pop and rock.
So much of my success was down to the education and lifestyle coaching I provided for my clients. Inspired by my own personal experience and copious study, from the get-go I always explained that the importance of eating real food was the foundation of good health. I made sure they understood the reason why their unhelpful habits of consuming multiple cups of coffee a day was contributing to their anxiety and insomnia.
A NATURAL AWAKENING

Self-care rules
So, I learnt from early on of the wisdom of supporting our body’s own innate healing power by natural means and to live a preventative lifestyle where possible. It just made sense to address symptoms that our body manifests before actual chronic illness develops, so we can avoid getting sick in the first place and with it the over reliance on pharmaceutical drugs which do not address the root cause.
BUSINESS AND MOTHERHOOD
Fast forward and following a period of juggling motherhood and with a career in public relations, marketing and journalism, I felt called back to my natural health roots. So, I resumed aromatherapy treatments alongside my day job and then it was back to being a student. I wanted to understand more about the power of what we eat as a preventative therapy and nutrition as a tool for healing.
After three years of dedicated study, I gained a diploma in naturopathic nutrition with the award-winning College of Naturopathic Medicine, which offers qualifications in a range of therapeutic disciplines. The course entailed nearly 500 hours of in-class academic study, over 200 hours of clinical observation and practice, exams, assessments, tutorials, case studies and countless hours of additional personal study and revision.
It was challenging and put me through my paces but was such a rewarding journey of discovery during which I met some incredibly inspiring individuals. It has opened the door to the wonderful world of functional medicine and has set me on a path of lifelong learning. For my sins I am also a trained journalist and work for a Midlands-based regional newspaper group reporting on local news, writing features and a health column. It’s an endlessly fascinating profession.
