What is
Nutritional Therapy?

Nutritional therapy is the practice of using food, supplements and lifestyle changes, specifically tailored towards helping you maximise your health potential and move forward with your health goals.​

​

It promotes the benefits of wholesome, unprocessed foods for optimal well-being, as well as the therapeutic effects of certain foods for specific health conditions. Nutritional therapy treats each person holistically, whilst seeking the root source of health concerns, rather than simply treating overt symptoms. It works on the basis that everyone is unique and therefore, a ‘one size fits all’ model of eating simply don’t work well for a lot of people. Registered nutritional therapy practitioners assess and identify potential nutritional imbalances and understand how these may contribute to an individual’s symptoms and health concerns.

Who comes to see a nutritional therapist?

PERSONALISED 1:2:1 NUTRITION CONSULTATION

What to expect

Before we meet, I’ll ask you to complete an in-depth health questionnaire and seven-day diet diary so I can start to understand your base line. During the initial consultation I will listen to you about your health concerns, and we will agree what your current health priorities are.

We will then go through your health questionnaire in detail so that I have a full understanding of your medical and wellbeing history. After the initial consultation you will receive a personalised nutrition and eating plan tailored to your specific needs.​

This could also include recommendations for any nutritional or herbal supplements where necessary. I will include lifestyle recommendations to optimise sleep, relaxation and movement, taking into account your current commitments.  As appropriate, recipes and handouts will be provided to help put your bespoke plan into action. If a functional test would help us get to the root cause I will explain the benefits.

​I might suggest that you contact your GP to request some tests. Follow-up appointments will review progress and make adjustments to your plan. In between sessions I’ll help to keep you on track through an online messaging app.

My programmes

A one-off appointment won’t really deliver the kind of progress required to achieve meaningful results, so I prefer to work with people over a set period on a programme basis. Regular contact keeps you motivated and on track, guarantees timely appointments and allows me to respond as you progress. I offer three packages over a three-month period, and you can opt for greater or lesser support depending on your individual circumstances. At the end of the package there is an option to renew.
